Open a Trello onboarding card when a deal is won
The moment a deal reaches closed won, delivery gets a card with the company, the value, the owner and the checklist that starts every engagement.
How this flow works
Syncline watches HubSpot for Deal stage changed. When that happens it runs Create a card in Trello with the fields you mapped.
- Connect the portal and filter the trigger to the closed won stage only.
- Connect Trello and pick the board and the list onboarding starts on.
- Map the company, the owner and the value onto the card.
- Move one test deal to won, read the card, then enable the flow.
Field mapping
| From HubSpot | To Trello | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Company | Card name | The card is named after the account, which is how the delivery team refers to the work anyway. |
| Owner | Members | The rep who closed it is added to the card, matched by the email on their Trello account. |
| Lifecycle stage | List | Only closed won reaches the board, and other stages are filtered out before a card is ever made. |
| Deal amount | Labels | A size label such as Enterprise is chosen from the value, using labels already present on the board. |
Why teams run it
- Delivery starts the day the deal closes, not the next standup
- The rep stays on the card, so questions have somewhere to go
- A checklist arrives with the card and the process is followed
Who uses it
An onboarding manager who currently finds out about new customers in a weekly meeting.
About the two apps
HubSpot
HubSpot is the record of who your customers are and how far along they got. Syncline feeds it from the places leads actually arrive, and pushes deal changes back out to the team.
Trello
Trello is the task board people actually keep updated, because moving a card takes one second. Syncline creates those cards from other systems and reports back when they move.
Questions
Can the card carry a standard checklist?
